Sessions are 60-minutes long and cost $220, but I also offer some reduced fee spots ranging from $100-200. The availability of these fluctuates. I do not accept insurance.
Some clients prefer longer sessions to settle in. I offer 90-minute sessions as well as therapy intensives: 2-3 hour sessions where we focus on one core issue. If your insurance plan offers out-of-network benefits I can provide you with what's called a 'superbill' which you can submit to your insurance company for partial to full reimbursement.
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning you pay me upfront and can seek partial to full reimbursement from your insurance provider if you have out-of-network benefits.
If your insurance plan covers out-of-network treatment I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for partial to full reimbursement.
To find out if you have out-of-network benefits check the Summary of Benefits that is typically included in your member information packet or on your insurance company website. Call your insurance company to verify. Ask them:
What is my out-of-network deductible for outpatient mental health care? You can ask them if what the coverage is for the CPT code 90837.
How much of my deductible has been met this year?
What is my out-of-network coinsurance for outpatient mental health care?
Do I need a referral from an in-network provider to see someone out-of-network?
How do I submit claim forms for reimbursement?
We’ll meet for a free 20-minute zoom consultation. We’ll find a consistent time for us to meet on a weekly or every-other-week basis (unless we are doing a 1 time intensive). The first session will consist of a detailed overview of your history and goals. The second session is a deeper dive into your relationship with your body and emotions.Subsequent sessions will focus on a topic from your current life or history related to your overall goals.
Traditional talk therapy separates the mind and body, and can devalue the wisdom of the body. Somatic therapy helps the body and mind reconnect and partner in healing. These methods are so effective because they go deeper than the surface of your thoughts.
This approach addresses the physiological and emotional learnings that shape your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Together, we will tap into the story your body carries around what you've experienced or what needs have gone unmet. We'll metabolize those stories and integrate what you're learning in our work so that it becomes second nature. By helping your body feel understood, safe, and supported you can feel more capable, confident, and empowered. You can experience more satisfaction in life and more fulfillment in your relationships.
Sessions are experiential. In addition to talking, we may use mindfulness, movement, touch, and music to experiment and shift things, depending on what feels right for you. Sessions are slow, spacious, and emphasize keeping you present. This ensures that the integration of the brain and nervous system happens in a way that is not disruptive to your life.
Since somatic therapies work with the body & nervous system, you won’t have to talk about painful stuff the whole time if you don’t want to. You would be a good candidate to work with me if you are open to exploring experientially. Mindfulness, movement, and touch are inherently healing, but they work differently in everyone.
I use an experiential somatic approach in my practice. This means you aren’t just venting about your week, and you don’t have to recite your most traumatic experience in order for me to help you. Instead, each session, we will explore the cognitive, emotional, and/or physiological aspects of what comes up for you in relation to your main goal(s). We’ll work in real time to befriend your body, unpack the roots of what you’re struggling with, and explore what kind of resources your body needs to feel safer to be a more authentic, courageous, and resilient version of yourself. Sessions may include talking, movement, mindfulness, and therapeutic touch. You don’t need to be able to do a body scan or tell me exactly where you feel anxiety in your body to begin somatic therapy. I’ve got plenty of tools to help you baby step your way toward deeper awareness and capacity for change.
