Therapy for Chronic Pain

An Experiential Approach Integrating Mindfulness, Movement, Music, and Touch

Chronic pain is no joke.

The pain affects almost every aspect of your life:

  • Your mental health is suffering because you're constantly worried about your next pain flare.

  • You can't sleep comfortable because your back is aching.

  • You avoid your favorite workout class because what if you trigger something?!

  • Focusing at work is a true challenge.

  • You can't even enjoy time with loved ones because you're so distracted by your pain.

It’s one never-ending nightmare. You don't even  remember who you were before the pain. You feel completely betrayed by your body and you're confident you'll never find relief.

You’ve tried all the medications, all the topical gels, all the bodywork, and braces, but have you considered how the increasingly antagonistic relationship between your mind and body might be blocking the possibility of relief?

When it comes to the pain you feel, there may be aspects of it that are structural or physiological, but there are likely also aspects of it that are mental and emotional.

As a fellow chronic pain sufferer, I understand that reading this might make you feel more hopeless or frustrated. If it’s just a mind-over-matter thing, why do I still feel like this?

You just haven't had the right support. But after a few sessions with me...

  • You're body is feeling a little bit softer.

  • Even when you feel some discomfort, you don't spiral into total despair.

  • You're stopping the anxiety-pain cycle in it's tracks with the new skills we're practicing.

  • You've got a clear picture of your triggers.

  • You've figured out what you need to take the edge off in a way that actually feels sustainable.

  • You finally booked that vacation without worrying about how you'll get around town.

You can have a different experience in your body. Somatic therapy might just be the missing ingredient.

Somatic approaches are particularly helpful for addressing the emotional underpinnings to your chronic pain. In fact, research shows there's a huge correlation between emotions and pain, especially when there's no injury to blame.

The modalities I'm trained in are rooted in neuroscience and a deep understanding of the nervous system. Together, we can help your body to feel safe enough to relax.

What kinds of chronic pain can I help with?

I work with clients who have chronic pain and chronic illness. Some of my past clients have struggled with injuries, fibromyalgia, arthritis, TMJ, migraines, endometriosis, vaginismus and vulvodynia, and more.  If you don’t see yourself on that list you are still welcome to reach out if what I’m sharing resonates with you.

You've been waiting a long time to feel better.

It would be a true honor to share a somatic approach to healing with you.
